Acetaminophen
A pain reliever and fever reducer often used to treat mild to moderate pain. Acetaminophen can be combined with other pain medications to add to their effectiveness. Available without a prescription. Also known as Tylenol®.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAID)
A type of medication used to treat common aches and pains, and especially pain caused by inflammation. Best used under the direction of a health care provider, as they may thin the blood (increasing risk of bleeding), cause stomach upset and impair kidney function. Available with or without a prescription.

A treatment used to provide nutrition. Liquid nutrients are given through a tube to the stomach or intestine. Also known as tube feeding.
