Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC)
Description:
To eliminate the isolation for young adults with cancer in Canada by providing inspiration, information and support.
YACC initiatives include:
· Localife – peer-led activity-based groups for young adult cancer patients/survivors and supporters to connect with their peers
· Retreat Yourself – a weekend retreat for young adult cancer patients/survivors and supporters to get together and discuss issues related to their cancer
· Retreat Yourself Adventure - provides young adult cancer patients/survivors and supporters a chance to tackle survivorship issues on an Adventure that will push their limits and challenge them physically and mentally
· Survivor Conference - annual conference that brings together young adult cancer patients/survivors and supporters to learn useful tips to live a healthier and happier life.
· The Big Cancer hookup! – annual webcast showcasing young adults and their real-life cancer stories
· We Get It – video series addressing relevant issues for young adults. Videos include information on: delayed diagnosis, disintrajectorization, isolation, fertility, independence, relationships and survivorship
