Symptom Management in Comfort End-of-Life Care of Pneumonia
Description:
An approach to managing terminal pneumonia, a common end-of-life complication in many progressive chronic conditions, including dementia, malignancy, neurodegenerative, respiratory, and rheumatologic conditions. This may facilitate effective symptom management in the comfort care of deaths related to influenza. This guideline was developed by Dr Mike Harlos, Medical Director, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Palliative Care Program and Physician Consultant, Canadian Virtual Hospice.
